Description
Milestone Maths Level A2 is designed for the youngest learners who are ready to step into “big school” maths. It offers a gentle, hands-on introduction to number work and mathematical reasoning—crafted to feel engaging, not overwhelming.
Level A2 is ideally suited for Term 2 of Foundation (or the second half of the year, if you’re pacing more slowly). It builds naturally on Level A1 and prepares your child for the next stage of the Milestone pathway.
Topics covered in this level:
- Addition within 5
- Counting and number sense to 10
- Pattern recognition and creation
The Level A series is entirely optional and designed for flexibility. Together, A1 and A2 cover all the foundational knowledge required for Level B, so you can comfortably spread them across the full Foundation year if you prefer. (Levels A3 and A4 will soon be available for families who wish to extend mathematical thinking and reasoning further.)

A set of Sumstix is essential for completing activities in Milestone Maths Levels A-C. While we include a printable version with this product, it is strongly recommended that you purchase a physical set. It will be easier for you and much more engaging for your child!
