About the Curriculum

Milestone Maths is a complete, structured maths program designed specifically for homeschoolers.

It provides a clear pathway through the primary years, with each level building carefully on what has come before. The focus is on steady progress, strong understanding, and consistent review so that students develop both confidence and competence over time.

How the Program is Structured

The curriculum is organised into levels, each designed to represent approximately one year of learning.

Each level is divided into four workbooks, making it easy to pace learning across the year or adapt to your family’s schedule.

  • Level A–D → currently available
  • Level E → in development
  • Levels F–K → planned

This structure allows families to move forward with clarity, while knowing there is a clear pathway ahead.

Levels at a Glance

Milestone Maths levels broadly correspond to Australian year levels, while allowing flexibility based on each child’s readiness.

  • Level A (Foundation) → early number concepts, counting, and simple operations
  • Level B (Year 1) → developing number sense, addition and subtraction within 10
  • Level C (Year 2) → building fluency with addition to 20 and beyond and laying the foundation for multiplication
  • Level D (Year 3) → building fluency with multiplication to 10 × 10, real world applications and higher level problem solving

Milestone Maths levels are designed as a guide, not a fixed timeline.

Children are encouraged to move at a pace that allows them to fully understand each concept before progressing. This focus on mastery is at the heart of the program and it is the reason the levels are named using letters rather than year numbers.

The goal is not to keep up with a schedule, but to reach each milestone with confidence.

Aligned with the Australian Curriculum

Milestone Maths is broadly aligned with Version 9.0 of the Australian Curriculum.

Concepts are introduced in a similar overall sequence, while allowing for adjustments where a different order better supports understanding and long-term retention.

This means families can feel confident that students are covering the expected content, while benefiting from a structure designed specifically for learning at home.
