One of the most common questions I hear from parents at homeschool expos is, “Do you have anything for Prep?” It’s clear that Australian homeschoolers need a gentle, play-based maths curriculum for the Foundation year.
I promised I’d build one and I’m happy to share that Level A is now rolling out, with Book A1 and Book A2 fully available, and more to follow.
Level A (Foundation / Prep / Kindy) is being released in stages:
- Book A1 & A2 are available now. These contain the core curriculum requirements for the year.
- Books A3 & A4 will follow as extension content, overlapping gently with Level B.
How to use Level A
You can easily stretch the content in A1 and A2 across the entire year, or use A3 and A4 as a gentle bridge into Year 1. Start early (around age 3), replay favourite activities, or move at your child’s pace. This isn’t a rigid prescription—it’s flexible homeschool support designed to give your child a rock-solid maths foundation.
The Milestone Maths approach
If you’ve used older levels, you already know we combine hands-on, practical learning with academic rigour. Level A is a gentle, play-based introduction. We practice fine motor and pencil skills, but there’s no formal writing.
We also explore Sumstix in a low-pressure way, and most importantly, we learn to count to ten. Really count. Not just recite a sequence, but understand what each number actually means. That conceptual understanding is the most important foundation for future maths success.
Free or Paid? Your choice!
You can access the complete Level A curriculum for free. I want every child to have access to high-quality early maths learning, so I’m publishing the lessons milestone by milestone right here on the blog. If you prefer a ready-to-print bundle or a physical workbook with die-cut stickers, that option is available too.
Paid Versions
We have both print at home and full physical bundles available for purchase in our shop.
Levels A1 and A2 are available now here.
Levels A3 and A4 will appear here when they release.
The Free (drip-feed) Version
I’m publishing the full lessons on the blog, one milestone at a time. Each milestone post includes the parent guide, photos of completed workbook pages, and a direct download link.
All published milestones are automatically listed below—this page updates as new content goes live, so you’ll always find the latest here.
